this piggy bank did not look like this last month. it was instead a flat, terracotta little pig who had endured a few too many chips, breaks and fallen off ears that were reglued. i was about to give up on the little guy after another incident but, felt that i just couldn't yet - after all it was a gift my mom had given me when i was pretty young and i just wasn't ready to part with it. so, we (my husband and i) decided to gild him so that all of his blemishes could be covered up and so he could 'live on' so to speak. needless to say i love the way it turned out. see the before photo below and also the inspiration behind it.
priming the pig before gilding him.
the inspiration - loved this one for some time now but could not justify the purchase. you can find it here.
i've been MIA for awhile and well, the reason is because i've been a bit busy with our new, little addition above. i know i had not mentioned being pregnant so this is a surprise but, due to my past experience (mentioned here) i just couldn't breathe a word of it until his official arrival. needless to say i'm completely in love with this little guy and am enjoying every moment with him and little C. i promise now that things are settling a little, that i will begin posting more often. xo, j.
I just recently rented this film on i-tunes and have been thinking about it ever since. the cinematography is amazing and well, i just found everything about it beautiful and inspiring. you can see the official trailer here.
We finally made it to Prune this past week and it was well worth the wait. It was so great getting into the city and having some quiet time with my husband. I already can't wait to go back. xo, j.
we recently bought this short film from itunes for our little girl. i can't begin to say how much i love it and so does little C. it's definitely worth checking out no matter what age your are.
i've loved keri russell ever since her days on 'felicity' - something about her always seemed so down to earth. i feel like her house kind of has the same feel. i love that so much of it is made out of reclaimed wood and objects. and oh, how i do love that chandelier.
